Updated First Base (1B) Fantasy Baseball Rankings: Points Leagues - March Updates (2025)

Bryce Harper - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, MLB Injury News, DFS Lineup Picks

Updated RotoBaller's first base (1B) fantasy baseball rankings for H2H points leagues, updated for March 2025. Win your drafts with our points league rankings.

Points leagues fantasy baseball content continues to be in high demand, and we are back with more updated rankings. First base can be dicey once the elite tier is off the board. At RotoBaller HQ, we help you navigate through the position with our team's updated fantasy baseball first base rankings and tiers for points leagues and H2H points leagues.

Fantasy managers should prioritize drafting a first baseman within the first few rounds, as the dropoff can be steep once the top five are off the board. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. leads the way as RotoBaller's No.1 ranked 1B, while Bryce Harper, Freddie Freeman, and Matt Olson follow. Injuries continue to take a toll as Freeman missed the first two games of the Tokyo, Japan series with rib discomfort and is still recovering from offseason ankle surgery. There are some first basemen who are generating some offseason buzz that can be drafted later, such as Jake Burger, Triston Casas, and Michael Toglia.

The 1B rankings below are specifically designed for points leagues, put together by RotoBaller's MLB points expert Nicklaus Gaut. We also have many other fantasy baseball rankings, tools, and resources to help you win in 2025, including our constantly-updated fantasy baseball points rankings for all positions. 1B Fantasy Baseball Rankings for Points Leagues (March)

These first base rankings are for points and head-to-head points leagues. You can also see our roto fantasy baseball rankings.

Before we get to the rankings, let's quickly review points leagues and how they differ from other formats. Typically, points leagues have different league settings and scoring formats than other fantasy baseball leagues. Different MLB stats and categories are assigned different point values, and those can vary by individual league settings. Those different point buckets are then added up over the course of a scoring period or season.

In many cases, hitters who walk more and strike out less are preferred for points leagues. Also, many league formats tend to give more weight to pitchers than normal, as they can easily accrue points through categories like Innings Pitched. These are the general frameworks that we use for our points league rankings below, and explain why they look different than more standard 5x5 roto fantasy baseball rankings.
