2 weeks agoDallas Mavericks guard Jalen Brunson continued to admirably fill in for injured superstar Luka Doncic on Wednesday night. In a 121-107 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, Brunson had 20 points on 6-for-14 shooting, six assists, two rebounds and three made three-pointers. It is the second time in three games that the sophomore guard has scored at least 20 points, and the Mavericks should be delighted with the production they are getting from Brunson in Doncic's absence. Fantasy managers should look to take advantage of this opportunity and add Brunson in their season-long leagues while also throwing him in their DFS lineups against the Washington Wizards on Friday night.--Euan Leith - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

2 weeks agoIn a 121-107 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday, Memphis Grizzlies guard JA Morant scored a team-high 21 points in 31 minutes and added three assists and two rebounds while shooting an efficient 10-for-12 from the field. The rookie was 3-for-3 inside five feet, and it is a sign of improvement in that part of his game because he currently ranks sixth out of the seven guards that get at least seven shots per game within five feet. It's a great list to be on, but the No. 2 pick in the 2019 draft has set such a high standard already that picking holes in his game is becoming harder by the game. Morant and the streaking Grizzlies will look for the 14th win in their last 17 games on Friday night in Philadelphia.--Euan Leith - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

2 weeks agoMemphis Grizzlies guard Tyus Jones continued his best scoring stretch of the season on Wednesday night in a 121-107 win over the Dallas Mavericks. The 2015 draft pick scored a career-high 19 points on 8-for-8 shooting and added three assists and two rebounds in his 17 minutes. Jones exploded in the third quarter with 13 points on 5-for-5 shooting along with three makes from behind the arc. The former Duke guard has scored 10-plus points in four straight games for the first time this season and has a 15-to-2 assist-to-turnover ratio in those four games. The 23-year-old will look to make it five games in a row with at least 10 points on Friday against the Philadelphia 76ers.--Euan Leith - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

2 weeks agoMemphis Grizzlies forward Jaren Jackson Jr. helped his team win for the 13th time in their last 16 games in a 121-107 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night. The second-year player had 19 points on 7-for-15 shooting, six rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal in 32 minutes. The Grizzlies scratched Jae Crowder and Solomon Hill due to potential involvement in a trade with Andre Iguodala and the Miami Heat. The power forward's averages over the last 10 games have dipped below his season averages, but a big performance on Wednesday will hopefully right the ship. If the Grizzlies trade more of their veterans before Thursday's trade deadline, Jackson should see a slight upgrade in production, maybe as soon as the Grizzlies next game against Philadelphia on Friday.--Euan Leith - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

2 weeks agoThe Boston Celtics needed an offensive spark on Wednesday, particularly due to the absence of Kemba Walker (knee) versus the Orlando Magic, and forward Grant Williams delivered. Williams came away with 13 points, eight rebounds and an assist along with a steal and two blocks in 22 minutes of action. The 21-year-old also connected on three of his four shot attempts from the three-point line. After receiving playing time sporadically to begin the season, the rookie has seemed to solidify his place in the Boston rotation, as only Brad Wanamaker played more minutes off the pine for the Celtics on Wednesday.--Jesse Cinquini - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

2 weeks agoBoston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum led the charge against the Orlando Magic on Wednesday, which resulted in a victory for the green. The 21-year-old torched the opposition, shooting 11-for-24 overall, 5-for-11 from deep and six of his seven free-throw attempts found the bottom of the net. Along with getting buckets, Tatum also contributed in other areas, tallying eight rebounds, five assists and two steals in 39 minutes of play. Boston is taking on the 13-38 Hawks on Friday, and considering that much of the Celtics rotation is dealing with injuries, Tatum should once again have an opportunity to stuff the stat sheet.--Jesse Cinquini - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

2 weeks agoDespite an admirable performance from Orlando Magic forward Aaron Gordon on Wednesday, the Celtics came away with the victory 116-100. Gordon was aggressive heading to the basket all night long and it paid dividends, as the six-year pro got to the charity stripe 10 times and converted on eight of his opportunities. He was second on the team in scoring, finishing with 23 points on a solid 7-for-15 shooting from the field. Gordon also pulled down 10 boards and dished out four dimes in what resulted in the Magic's sixth loss in their past seven games. Though the 24-year-old has had a down year overall, he has picked up his quality of play as of late -- this is his second consecutive double-double. Gordon collected 16 points and 12 rebounds in a win over Charlotte on Monday.--Jesse Cinquini - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

2 weeks agoBoston Celtics forward Gordon Hayward finished with a team-high plus/minus of plus-17 against the Magic on Wednesday, a testament to his impact in multiple facets of the game. The former Butler star tallied a gaudy stat line of 23 points, seven rebounds, seven dimes and came up with a pair of steals in 35 minutes of action. Not only that, but Hayward was impressively efficient, shooting 10-for-16 overall and 2-for-3 from beyond the arc. With Kemba Walker (knee) sitting out, the 29-year-old was handed the keys to Boston's offense, and he thrived as the team's primary playmaker. There is a good chance Hayward will once again be a central part of the Celtics offense when they take on the Atlanta Hawks on Friday.--Jesse Cinquini - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

2 weeks agoOrlando Magic guard Evan Fournier shot the lights out in a 116-100 loss to the Celtics in Boston on Wednesday. In 34 minutes, he managed to accumulate 26 points, four rebounds and an assist. The Frenchman scored the ball with impressive efficiency, burying six triples on eight tries and he also saw all four of his free-throw attempts tickle the twine. Orlando is set to play a back-to-back as they will be taking on the New York Knicks on Thursday. Fournier should have an opportunity to put many points on the board against a squad that gives up the third-most points in basketball.--Jesse Cinquini - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

2 weeks agoGolden State Warriors guards Glenn Robinson III and Alec Burks will both be held out of Wednesday's game against the Brooklyn Nets. Neither player is injured, but they are being held out due to possible trades over the next day with the deadline on Thursday. 2 weeks agoCleveland Cavaliers center Tristan Thompson (quad) will not play Wednesday against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Thompson missed Monday's game and today's shootaround so this comes at no surprise. However, this does come in the midst of trade rumors so there may be more at play behind the scenes. Regardless, John Henson is projected to start, but Larry Nance Jr. will see the biggest jump in value and has been playing exceptionally well over the past week or so.--Dale Johnson - RotoBallerSource: Kelsey Russo

2 weeks agoMemphis Grizzlies center Jonas Valanciunas (knee) will play Wednesday against the Dallas Mavericks. Valanciunas had some knee soreness following Monday's game and was questionable to play, but looks good to go. Valanciunas has a little injury history so hopefully he gets through unscathed. If Valanciunas is limited, Brandon Clarke will likely be the biggest beneficiary.--Dale Johnson - RotoBallerSource: Grizzlies PR

2 weeks agoDetroit Pistons forward/center Markieff Morris (illness) will not play Wednesday against the Phoenix Suns. Morris was originally dealing with a hip injury, but will be sitting due to illness. This could be due to a possible trade in the works, but that is only speculation at this point. Christian Wood will likely get some more run here and is a hold while we await any big trade deadline news.--Dale Johnson - RotoBallerSource: Keith Langlois

2 weeks agoOrlando Magic forward Khem Birch (back) was a full participant during Wednesday's shootaround. He is expected to be back in the starting five for Wednesday's game against the Boston Celtics. He missed Monday's game due to back tightness, but it appears he's ready to go here. 2 weeks agoBoston Celtics guard Marcus Smart (quad) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Orlando Magic. This marks the second game in a row that Smart has been unable to play. Kemba Walker (knee) will join him on the sideline for this game. Javonte Green, Brad Wanamaker and Carsen Edwards will see more minutes falling their way, but won't be great fantasy options.
