3 weeks agoAtlanta Hawks guard Dejounte Murray (quadriceps) has been ruled out for Wednesday's clash with the Hornets. He's sitting out the second leg of a back-to-back after being listed as questionable on the initial injury report. Murray's exit from the lineup coincides with Trae Young's (finger) return, although the Hawks star will be playing with a minutes restriction and likely won't be able to reach his usual numbers. Kobe Bufkin, Vit Krejci, and Garrison Mathews could get a boost in playing time, but none of the three stand out as good fantasy options.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBallerSource: Atlanta Hawks
Share:
3 weeks agoMiami Heat point guard Terry Rozier (neck) will remain out on Wednesday against Dallas. The team has downgraded Rozier from questionable to out, meaning he misses a second consecutive game. Duncan Robinson (back) is still out as well, giving Tyler Herro massive usage on the backcourt. He shot 13-for-25 en route to a game-high 33 points in Tuesday's double-overtime win against Atlanta. The backcourt injuries also helped Delon Wright to re-enter the rotation, although he's more of a defensive specialist and doesn't provide enough for fantasy managers in normal circumstances.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBallerSource: NBA Injury Report
Share:
3 weeks agoAtlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young (finger) will rejoin the lineup on Wednesday against Charlotte but will carry a minutes restriction. It's unclear how many minutes he will get in his first action in 24 games, but the team will be delighted to see him back, with the play-in tournament starting next week. Young's return eases playmaking duties on Dejounte Murray, and Bogdan Bogdanovic should eventually land back with the second unit. The Serbian sniper will likely still remain with the starters on Wednesday, as a number of regulars are out.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBallerSource: Brett Siegel
Share:
3 weeks agoBrooklyn Nets forward Cameron Johnson (toe) is ready to rejoin the action on Wednesday against the Raptors. He will jump back into the lineup after missing two games with a toe sprain. Dorian Finney-Smith's (knee) absence should secure Johnson his 48th start of the season. Johnson has averaged 14.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in the first unit in 2023-24. He went close to a double-double in his only previous start against Toronto this season. With Nicolas Claxton (ankle) also back in the fold, Trendon Watford, Noah Clowney, and Jalen Wilson will need to worry about their minutes.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBallerSource: NBA Injury Report
Share:
3 weeks agoBrooklyn Nets center Nicolas Claxton (ankle) will return to the court on Wednesday versus Toronto. He missed Sunday's blowout loss to Sacramento with an ankle sprain. Noah Clowney looks set to relinquish his spot in the starting unit, although he could still play a fairly significant role off the bench. It's a good matchup for Brooklyn's big men against a team that's poorly equipped under the rim. Only five teams allow more points to opposing centers than the Raptors, who also struggle in the rebounding department.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBallerSource: NBA Injury Report
Share:
3 weeks agoLos Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard (knee) will sit out a sixth consecutive game on Wednesday versus Phoenix. Leonard has yet to see any action this month after previously missing only six games this season. P.J. Tucker and Norman Powell have picked up starts in his place. The former started three straight games before completely dropping out of the rotation on Tuesday against the Suns. Powell entered the first unit to register 10 points and five rebounds across 33 minutes. It was a fairly quiet evening for him, and Powell should be capable of much more if he maintains the role for Wednesday's rematch.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBallerSource: NBA Injury Report
Share:
3 weeks agoLos Angeles Clippers guard/forward Paul George (knee) has been ruled out for Wednesday's rematch with the Suns. He had 23 points across 39 minutes on Tuesday against Phoenix but sits out the second leg of a back-to-back with a sore left knee. George's absence opens the door for Amir Coffey to enter the starting unit. Coffey has averaged 11.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in 27.5 minutes across 11 previous starts this season. He played well at both ends on Tuesday and could be a good fantasy selection again for Wednesday.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBallerSource: NBA Injury Report
Share:
3 weeks agoLos Angeles Clippers guard James Harden (foot) will miss a second consecutive contest on Wednesday against Phoenix. The former MVP is dealing with right foot inflammation as the regular season is starting to draw to a close. Harden's absence allowed Russell Westbrook to shine with a triple-double against the Suns on Tuesday. However, he might also be out for the rematch after the Clippers listed him as questionable ahead of Wednesday's game. Bones Hyland should be next in line to take over the baton, with Xavier Moon possibly also getting meaningful minutes on Wednesday.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBallerSource: NBA Injury Report
Share:
3 weeks agoSan Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyama (ankle) is out for Wednesday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Head coach Gregg Popovich mentioned following Tuesday's road win over the Memphis Grizzlies that the team would be smart with Wembanyama on the second night of the back-to-back. The Spurs have two games left at home against the Denver Nuggets on Friday and the Detroit Pistons on Sunday, and the 2023 No. 1 overall pick would figure to be good to go for both meetings. In eight games without Wemby season, Zach Collins has stepped up to average 16.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.3 three-pointers, and 1.8 combined steals plus blocks. Collins is the most likely candidate to start at center for San Antonio on Wednesday, and he's a great DFS value option on the eight-game slate.--Joseph Barbati - RotoBallerSource: Jeff Garcia - KENS 5 San Antonio
Share:
3 weeks agoMinnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns (knee) remains out for Wednesday's game against the Denver Nuggets. There was some hope that Towns could return from a month-long absence with a torn left meniscus on Wednesday, but that will have to wait at least until Friday's matchup with the Atlanta Hawks. Naz Reid remains the direct fantasy beneficiary of the star big man's absence and is averaging 17.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 3.0 three-pointers, and 2.5 combined steals plus blocks over his last 12 games, but his DFS appeal is diminished by a Denver defense that ranks fourth in the NBA in field-goal percentage allowed (46.1%).--Joseph Barbati - RotoBallerSource: Minnesota Timberwolves Public Relations
Share:
3 weeks agoMiami Heat guard Terry Rozier (neck) is listed as questionable to play in Wednesday's game versus the Dallas Mavericks. Neck spasms cost Rozier Tuesday's victory over the Atlanta Hawks, and the veteran guard's status remains up in the air for Wednesday's action. Tyler Herro would serve as Miami's top offense initiator if Rozier misses another game, with swingman Caleb Martin being an option to start for the Heat. Martin has averaged just 10.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.3 three-pointers in 29.6 minutes over 20 games as a starter this season, and he would only be viable as a stabilizing option in nine-category fantasy leagues that are still running in Week 24.--Joseph Barbati - RotoBallerSource: Ira Winderman - South Florida Sun-Sentinel
Share:
3 weeks agoAtlanta Hawks guard Dejounte Murray (quad) is questionable for Wednesday's tilt against the Charlotte Hornets. Dealing with a right quadriceps contusion after logging 48 minutes in Tuesday's defeat to the visiting Miami Heat, Murray might have to miss his first game since Feb. 9 on the second part of Atlanta's back-to-back. The sharpshooting Garrison Mathews would be primed for an uptick in minutes in the Hawks' backcourt if Murray sits out, and Trae Young (finger) could be needed to handle the bulk of the ball-handling duties if he's available on Wednesday. Young has averaged 29.0 points, 11.3 assists, 1.7 rebounds, 1.3 steals, and 2.6 three-pointers covering three outings sans Murray this year and would warrant plenty of DFS attention in a tasty matchup with the 19-60 Hornets, despite coming off an extended absence.--Joseph Barbati - RotoBallerSource: Kevin Chouinard - Hawks official site
Share:
3 weeks agoAtlanta Hawks guard Trae Young (finger) is officially listed as questionable for Wednesday's meeting with the Charlotte Hornets. It's an upgrade for Young, who is nearing a return and has been out since undergoing surgery to repair a torn ligament in his finger on Feb. 25. The Hawks hold the final East Play-In spot, so Young's return would give him a chance to ramp up his playing time ahead of the postseason. The 25-year-old three-time All-Star is averaging 26.4 points, 10.8 assists, 1.4 steals, and 3.3 three-pointers in 36.5 minutes over 51 games for Atlanta in 2023-24. Young would likely face some form of minutes restriction following a lengthy absence, but there's plenty of DFS appeal in a matchup between two of the league's five worst defenses in terms of efficiency rating. Dejounte Murray's (quad) fantasy value would take a hit if Young indeed suits up on Wednesday.--Joseph Barbati - RotoBallerSource: Kevin Chouinard - Hawks official site
Share:
3 weeks agoAtlanta Hawks forward Jalen Johnson (ankle) has been ruled out for Wednesday's tilt versus the Charlotte Hornets. After spraining his right ankle in Tuesday's loss to the visiting Miami Heat, Johnson was facing a short turnaround to recover in time for the second leg of Atlanta's back-to-back. A 2023-24 Most Improved Player of the Year candidate, Johnson hopes to return for a difficult matchup on Friday against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Vit Krejci is a candidate to join the Hawks' starting lineup in Johnson's stead, but he's averaged only 7.1 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 0.7 steals, and 1.7 three-pointers through nine games without Johnson this season. The Hornets rank 28th in the NBA in opponent field-goal percentage (49.4%), so the favorable draw gives him some DFS life.--Joseph Barbati - RotoBallerSource: Kevin Chouinard - Hawks official site
Share:
3 weeks agoMiami Heat guard Tyler Herro (foot) is not on injury report for Wednesday's game versus the Dallas Mavericks. There was some concern about Herro's status on Wednesday after he logged 48 minutes in Tuesday's win over the Atlanta Hawks, but he's cleared to play on the second half of Miami's back-to-back. With Terry Rozier (neck) questionable, it should be noted Herro has put up a healthy 22.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game across 28 appearances without Rozier this season as the Heat's primary ball handler. Dallas is yielding the fifth-most DraftKings points to opposing shooting guards to boot.--Joseph Barbati - RotoBallerSource: Anthony Chiang - Miami Herald
