Danny Jansen Homers; New Catcher To Roster In Toronto?
12 months agoToronto Blue Jays catcher Danny Jansen went 3-for-6 with a home run, three RBI and three runs scored as part of a 20-run bonanza against the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday. The long ball may have come off position player Christian Bethancourt in garbage time, but Jansen is certainly trending up. Across his last 10 games, the 28-year-old sports a .300 average (12-for-40) with three bombs and 11 RBI. Alejandro Kirk, whose fantasy ownership is dwindling, is hitting a trifling .184 (9-for-49) with a ghastly .504 OPS in May. The Jays are likely to ride some form of hot-hand approach behind the dish, so fantasy managers should watch this situation with a close eye.
