Recent Update

1/16:New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo was untouchable in a trade that would have sent Andrew McCutchen to the Mets, sources tell Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. The Mets opted for three years of Jay Bruce over the one season of McCutchen and also want to see what they have in Nimmo, who was Sandy Alderson's first draft pick as Mets general manager in 2011. Even though Nimmo was not a part of a trade for McCutchen, Mets sources say that he could be a part of a trade for Pirates infielder Josh Harrison, who has three more years of control. The Mets may also opt to sign infielder Eduardo Nunez, who is 30 years old just like Harrison and has an identical .735 career OPS. As for Nimmo, he projects to be the Mets third left-handed hitting outfielder behind Bruce and Michael Conforto. He batted .260 in 2017 with five home runs and a .797 OPS in 215 plate appearances.--Chris Zolli - RotoBaller
