Should I Draft Jordan Addison In 2024 Fantasy Football? Will Addison Be Suspended?

Jordan Addison - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison was the 23rd overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Addison had a productive college career, totaling 219 receptions for 3,134 receiving yards and 29 touchdowns in 35 games at Pittsburgh and USC.

Unfortunately, the talented receiver was in trouble before playing an NFL game. Addison was pulled over for speeding, going 140 MPH last year. Yet, he had an impressive rookie season, totaling 70 receptions on 108 targets for 911 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns despite catching passes from multiple quarterbacks.

However, should fantasy football players draft him in 2024 following his recent off-the-field incident? Let’s dive into it.

Jordan Addison 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook

The Vikings will have a new Week 1 starting quarterback for the first time since 2018 after Kirk Cousins signed with the Atlanta Falcons in free agency. While the team drafted J.J. McCarthy, Sam Darnold is expected to start the year and could play most of the season.

Meanwhile, Addison was the WR21 as a rookie, averaging 11 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. However, he was productive because of a high touchdown rate (9.3%). Furthermore, seven of his 10 receiving scores came in the eight games with Cousins under center. The former USC star was the WR37, averaging 8.7 fantasy points per game without the veteran quarterback.

Will Jordan Addison Be Suspended?

Addison was arrested on suspicion of a DUI on July 12 after being found asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle near the Los Angeles Airport. Reportedly, Minnesota is extremely unhappy with the second-year wide receiver. The team might not wait for the NFL to make a decision and suspend Addison themselves.

Fantasy players should avoid drafting the former USC star anywhere near his current ADP. The Vikings’ quarterback situation is a concern. Furthermore, Addison could get suspended at some point during the 2024 season. He is on my do-not-draft list for this year.
