Wendell Carter Jr. Seen At Practice, Still Out Wednesday
5 months agoOrlando Magic center Wendell Carter Jr. (finger), who has been ruled out for Wednesday's game versus the Washington Wizards, was on the floor getting shots up at Tuesday's practice after shedding his cast. It's a great sign for the progress of Carter, who is recovering from a fractured third metacarpal in his left hand that he sustained in the late stages of Nov. 2's game. The Magic expected Carter to be shelved for at least three weeks as of Nov. 4 after he underwent surgery some time around that point, so he's inching closer to a return. Carter was really struggling with his shot before suffering the setback, averaging just 9.4 points on 37.8% field-goal shooting and a 57.1% rate from the charity stripe. The former No. 7 overall pick should be stashed in most fantasy leagues, while Moritz Wagner and Goga Bitadze continue to form a minutes timeshare in the middle for Orlando amid Carter's absence.
