Vancouver Canucks goaltender Thatcher Demko (back) will remain out on Wednesday versus Washington but is closing in on his return. "'Demmer' is close," Canucks head coach Tocchet said on Wednesday. "He felt good last practice, so he's really close." Demko, who has gone 2-1-3 since making his season debut on Dec. 10, will get his next opportunity to return on Friday against Carolina. Kevin Lankinen will be between the sticks against the Capitals, hoping to get back to winning ways. He's on a 1-3-2 run entering Wednesday's matchup.
