6 months agoBenoit Saint-Denis (12-1) is coming off fighting at home in Paris, France in September and will now go into enemy territory on Saturday. Saint-Denis is set to fight in New York City, New York at UFC 295 and will take on local fighter and 14th-ranked lightweight Matt Frevola. Saint-Denis enters the fight on a four-fight winning streak and his lone career loss was in his debut, which he took on short notice and up a weight class at welterweight. The Frenchman enters this scrap as a sizeable betting favorite as DraftKings has him at a salary of $9,100 which is the fourth-highest on the card and in his five UFC appearances, he's averaging 120.32 fantasy points per outing. Saint-Denis has won all four of his fights in the UFC by stoppage and has yet to see a third-round. A win over Frevola will put Saint-Denis in the rankings.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC

6 months agoMatt Frevola (11-3-1) is set to fight at home in Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York for the second straight year as he's set to face Benoit Saint-Denis at UFC 295. Frevola enters this fight on a three-fight win streak and has won all three fights by first-round knockout and is coming off an upset TKO win over Drew Dober back in May. Despite being ranked 14th and on a winning streak, Frevola enters his UFC 295 fight as a sizeable underdog as DraftKings has him at a salary of $7,100 which is the fourth-lowest on the card. In his nine UFC fights, Frevola is 5-3-1 and is averaging 66.43 fantasy points per fight, as he has been knocked out in two of his three losses. A win over Saint-Denis should get Frevola a top-10 opponent next time out.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC

6 months agoMackenzie Dern (13-3) is set to take on former strawweight champion Jessica Andrade on the main card of UFC 295. Dern is coming off a decision win over Angela Hill back in May, which served as the main event of a Fight Night card. Dern is just 2-2 in her last four but is a sizeable favorite over Andrade as DraftKings has her at a salary of $9,000 which is the fifth-highest on the card. In her 11 UFC fights, Dern is averaging 83.95 fantasy points per fight as she's finished four of her eight wins by stoppage. However, Dern has gone the distance in five of her last six fights. A win over Andrade could put Dern a win or two away from getting a title shot.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC

6 months agoSergei Pavlovich (18-1) is set to fight Tom Aspinall in the co-main event of UFC 295 for the interim heavyweight title from Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York. Pavlovich and Aspinall took this fight on two weeks' notice after Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic for the undisputed heavyweight title was off due to an injury to Jones. Pavlovich is currently 6-1 in the UFC and riding a six-fight win streak but is a slight underdog as DraftKings has the Russian at a salary of $8,000. In his seven UFC fights, Pavlovich is averaging 102.99 fantasy points per fight as he has won all six fights by first-round knockout, his lone loss also came by first-round TKO. --Cole SheltonSource: UFC

6 months agoTom Aspinall (13-3) is set to fight Sergei Pavlovich for the interim heavyweight title in the co-main event of UFC 295 in Madison Square Garden on Saturday. Aspinall and Pavlovich agreed to this fight on two weeks' notice, so neither man got much of a training camp. The Brit is coming off a 73-second TKO win over Marcin Tybura back in July which was his first fight in a year after he tore his ACL in 15 seconds against Curtis Blaydes. Heading into UFC 295, Aspinall is a slight favorite as DraftKings has him at a salary of $8,200 while in his seven UFC fights, he's averaging 93.65 fantasy points per outing. Aspinall has finished all six of UFC wins with five of them coming in the first round. --Cole SheltonSource: UFC

6 months agoNicolas Dalby extended his win streak to four as he beat Gabriel Bonfim via knockout at UFC Sao Paolo. He was a sizeable underdog against Bonfim who was undefeated up until that point. Nicolas Dalby pulled off an amazing comeback at UFC Sao Paulo, as he was taken down and dominated in the first round. In the second round, Bonfim took Dalby down again, but this time, Dalby managed to fight his way back up. With less than a minute to go in the round, Dalby appeared to land a knee that sent Bonfim to the canvas. Dalby followed up with a barrage of punches that forced the referee to stop the fight. In 9:33 of action, Dalby landed 53 significant strikes.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC

6 months agoGabriel Bonfim walked out of the Octagon with his first loss after Saturday's matchup with Nicolas Dalby at UFC Sao Paolo. Brazilian welterweight, Bonfim, was a massive favorite coming into his UFC Sao Paolo bout against Dalby. However, Dalby fought past the odds and secured a second-round knockout over Bonfim. In 9:33 of action, Bonfim landed three takedowns and 39 significant strikes. With the loss, Bonfim dropped 2-1 in the UFC.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC

6 months agoDon'Tale Mayes suffered a unanimous decision loss to Rodrigo Nascimento at UFC Sao Paolo on Saturday. Mayes was last seen in action at June's UFC Vegas 74 event, where he scored a second-round TKO victory over former heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski. Mayes had a few good moments in the third round but it wasn't enough as Nascimento dominated in the first and the second round. In 15 minutes of action, Mayes landed 79 significant strikes. With the loss, Mayes' UFC record is 3-4.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC

6 months agoRodrigo Nascimento scored a clear-cut decision over Don'Tale Mayes at UFC Sao Paolo on Saturday. Nascimento, with the Brazilian crowd firmly behind him, started lighting up Mayes with a barrage of strikes. Nascimento continued his dominance in the second round, pinning Mayes against the fence and landing big shots. In 15 minutes of action, Nascimento landed 70 significant strikes. Capturing a decision, Rodrigo Nascimento is now 2-0 against Mayes after submitting him in their first meeting in 2020 at UFC on ESPN 8. With the win, Nascimento's UFC record is 5-1. --Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC

6 months agoAbus Magomedov is now 1-2 in the UFC as he suffered his second straight loss at UFC Sao Paulo. Magomedov was coming off a second-round TKO loss to Sean Strickland in July in just his second UFC fight. He ended up stepping up on about a month's notice at UFC Sao Paulo to face Caio Borralho. After a good first round, Magomedov faded badly as he was visibly tired and Borralho took over. The German ended up being outstruck 70-to-39 as he lost a clear-cut decision. With the loss, Magomedov is now 25-6-1 as a pro and could be fighting for his UFC job in his next fight.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC
Share:
6 months agoCaio Borralho improved to 5-0 in the UFC and 15-1 as a pro with a decision win over Abus Magomedov at UFC Sao Paulo. In the first round, Borralho came out southpaw which is not his usual stance and Magomedov had some success, and even was 1-for-1 on takedowns in the round. However, as the fight went on, Magomedov started to tire out and Borralho took over. In the third round, he had Magomedov hurt but couldn't finish him as he tried to sink a submission. Borralho ended up out-landing Magomedov 70-to-39 to win a clear-cut decision.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC

6 months agoDerrick Lewis is now 1-4 in his last five fights as he lost a lopsided decision to Jailton Almeida in the main event of UFC Sao Paulo on Saturday. Lewis took this fight on a month's notice but he had nothing for Almeida. 'The Black Beast' was taken down six times and was controlled for over 21 minutes out of the 25-minute fight as he lost every single round on all three judges' scorecards. Lewis also landed just 28 total strikes in the loss. --Cole SheltonSource: UFC
Share:
6 months agoJailton Almeida improved to 20-2 as a pro and 6-0 in the UFC with a one-sided decision win over Derrick Lewis at UFC Sao Paulo. Almeida went 6-of-15 on takedowns in the fight, but when he did get Lewis down, he was able to keep him there. The Brazilian finished the fight with 21:10 of control time in the 25-minute fight. Almeida also outstruck Lewis 120-to-28 as he won every single round on all three judges' scorecards. It wasn't the most exciting fight, but with the win, Almeida could very well get a top-five opponent next time out.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC

6 months agoNicolas Dalby (22-4-1) will look for his fourth straight victory when he faces Gabriel Bonfim at UFC Sao Paolo on Saturday. In his three previous fights, Dalby defeated Muslim Salikhov, Warlley Alves, and Claudio Silva. Dalby has never been finished in his 29-fight career. Overall, the tenured UFC veteran is 6-3-1, with all nine fights going the distance. DraftKings sees Dalby as the underdog with a salary of $6,900. He averages 54.1 fantasy points per contest throughout 10 UFC bouts.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC

6 months agoGabriel Bonfim (15-0) is set for his third UFC fight as he takes on Nicolas Dalby on Saturday at UFC Sao Paolo. Known as a dangerous finisher, 12 of his 15 wins have come by submission and three by knockout/TKO. DraftKings sees Bonfim as the favorite with a salary of $9,300. He averages 107.9 fantasy points per contest throughout two UFC bouts. A convincing victory over Dalby could potentially move Bonfim into a higher competitive tax bracket. --Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC
