Rashee Rice and a car accident on Saturday in which a Lamborghini was racing a Corvette, there is more evidence of the incident. After the accident, the video shows one man emerging from the back seat of the Lamborghini on the passenger side and two men emerging from the front seat on the passenger side. Based on photos posted by TMZ.com on Monday, including the image of Rice with family members before the incident, it looks like Rice is the second person out of the front seat on the passenger side, which would suggest he was the driver. An NFL spokesman said on Tuesday that the league is monitoring the situation, but if Rice was indeed driving, he could be facing severe charges for leaving the scene of an accident involving injuries, and it could even lead to a suspension from the NFL in 2024.

J.K. Dobbins (Achilles) is visiting with the Kansas City Chiefs on Tuesday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The former Baltimore Raven met with the Los Angeles Chargers last week, but he left L.A. without a contract. Dobbins was recently cleared for football activities following an Achilles tear that he suffered in Week 1 of the 2023 campaign. The 25-year-old has been great when healthy, averaging 5.8 yards per carry in his career. That ranks second all-time among running backs with at least 200 carries. However, it's tough to ignore the injury woes, as he has played in just 23 of his 67 possible games since being drafted by Baltimore in 2020. If he ends up signing with Kansas City, he's likely to be a part-time breather back behind
Isiah Pacheco. If his recovery from a torn Achilles goes better than expected, he could have a smidge of fantasy football value in 2024.

Meredith entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the Raiders in 2022 out of Western Kentucky. He spent most of his first year in the NFL on the team's practice squad in 2022 (he appeared in just one game) before playing in 17 games (one start at left guard) this past season in his second year in 2023. The 26-year-old offensive lineman will now return to Vegas to provide the Raiders with more interior offensive-line depth in 2024.

Michael Penix Jr. had dinner with the New York Giants in Seattle after his pro day and then had a private workout with the Minnesota Vikings in Seattle, according to sources. According to multiple sources, Penix will have top-30 official visits with the Denver Broncos, Atlanta Falcons, Las Vegas Raiders and Washington Commanders. The 23-year-old signal-called could sneak into the first round in April's NFL draft after impressing with a sub-4.6-second 40-yard dash during his pro day last week. Penix didn't run much in college after suffering two torn ACLs, but the fact that he still has game-changing speed will make him more attractive to NFL clubs. Injury concerns aside, Penix has become more interesting for teams that lose out on the top tier of QBs in this year's draft.

4 weeks agoNorth Carolina State center DJ Burns has been turning heads during the team's run to the Final Four in this year's NCAA basketball tournament. Now, Peter Schrager of Fox Sports said he has talked to or texted scouts and general managers over the last 24 hours, and the belief is he could draw interest as an offensive tackle prospect in the 2024 NFL Draft class. Schrager said Burns is listed as 6'9", but he's likely closer to 6'7" and has "A+" footwork. The 23-year-old is also listed at 275 pounds. This report is likely speculative for now, but we've seen college basketball players such as Antonio Gates and
Jimmy Graham transition into NFL stardom. Current Seattle Seahawks offensive tackle George Fant played four seasons of college basketball at Western Kentucky before playing in just two games of football in his senior year with the Hilltoppers. Although Burns transitioning to the gridiron would likely be a lengthy project, it's a development worth monitoring.

Rashee Rice following a major accident on Saturday in Dallas, Texas. A car involved in the accident was believed to be registered to or leased to Rice, and the occupants of two cars ran from the scene. On Monday, Rice's attorney Royce West released a statement saying "Rashee is cooperating with local authorities and will take all necessary steps to address this situation responsibly." As of now, there is still uncertainty about what happened and what Rice's involvement was in the situation, so it's too early to know if the 23-year-old will face discipline from the law and the NFL. This will be an ongoing development to monitor.

The new deal pays him a fully guaranteed $3.94 million over the next two years and has an additional $1.38 million available in playing time and Pro Bowl incentives. Blankenship was undrafted out of Middle Tennessee State University in 2022, and he has exceeded expectations in Philadelphia. In career 25 games (19 starts), the 25-year-old has racked up 147 tackles (99 solo), four interceptions, and 13 passes defended. After the release of former All-Pro safety Kevin Byard, Blankenship is slated to start alongside C.J. Gardner-Johnson for the Eagles in 2024.

Jeff Driskel is signing with the Washington Commanders, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. This will be the eighth team the 30-year-old will have been with during his career, and he's likely going to be utilized as a training camp arm more than anything else. Originally picked in the sixth round by the San Francisco 49ers out of Louisiana Tech in 2016, Driskel has completed 58.6% of his passes for 2,394 yards 16 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions in 23 career games. He's added 417 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. With Washington almost certainly going to select a quarterback with the No. 2 overall pick in this month's draft and
Marcus Mariota on the roster, it's tough to see Driskel sticking around with the organization into the 2024 regular season.

4 weeks agoThe Denver Broncos signed free-agent offensive guard Calvin Throckmorton to an undisclosed one-year deal on Monday, according to the team. Throckmorton played in 15 games (seven starts) with the Tennessee Titans and Carolina Panthers in 2023 before being released by the Panthers last November. The 27-year-old from Oregon entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2021 with the New Orleans Saints. He spent the first two years of his NFL career in New Orleans before playing with the Titans and Panthers last year. Throckmorton will give the Broncos some offensive-line depth in 2024 at the guard position. In his three years in the NFL, Throckmorton has started 27 of the 46 contests that he's appeared in.

4 weeks agoFree-agent cornerback Cameron Sutton, who has been wanted for weeks by police in Florida for his alleged involvement in a domestic-violence case, turned himself in on Sunday. Police had been unable to locate Sutton since March 7, when an arrest warrant was issued for him. His initial arrest warrant charged him with a felony, but prosecutors said on Monday that he was being formally charged with misdemeanor battery, which carries a maximum one-year jail sentence. Sutton was released from jail on Monday on his own recognizance. The 29-year-old signed a three-year, $33 million deal with the Detroit Lions last year but was released by the team on March 21, the day after the team found out about the warrant for his arrest.

4 weeks agoFree-agent cornerback K'Waun Williams (ankle), who missed all of last year with the Denver Broncos after having ankle surgery, was fully cleared medically earlier this month, according to sources. The Broncos aren't going to bring Williams back, but five other teams have expressed interest in him and he'll most likely decide on his next team after the upcoming NFL draft. The 32-year-old played in 14 games (eight starts) for Denver in 2022 and had 44 tackles (30 solo), one sack, an interception and seven passes defended before missing all of 2023. He entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Pittsburgh in 2014 with the Cleveland Browns, and Williams has eight years of NFL experience. Now that he's healthy, Williams should be able to latch on with another team and provide strong cornerback depth.

Johnson was with the team's practice squad all year but was active in Week 18 and caught two of his three targets for eight yards and a touchdown against the San Francisco 49ers. The former fifth-round pick (161st overall) in 2020 out of Minnesota by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers has 50 career catches on 75 targets for 537 yards and three touchdowns in 34 games (six starts) in his four seasons in the NFL with the Rams, Buccaneers and Houston Texans. Rashee Rice in their investigation of a major accident on Saturday in Dallas, according to the Dallas Morning News. The Dallas Morning News reported that a vehicle believed to be registered to or leased to Rice was involved in a crash in northeast Dallas at around 6:20 pm local time on Saturday. A police spokeswoman said a driver in a Chevrolet Corvette and a driver in a Lamborghini were speeding and both lost control of their vehicles, with the Lamborghini hitting the median wall and causing "a chain reaction collision involving four other vehicles." The occupants of the Lamborghini and Corvette ran from the crash site. It's unclear if Rice is facing charges, and his level of involvement in the accident is also unclear, but we'll continue to monitor the developing situation.
