Nolan Jones' Swing Needs More Work
2 months agoThere was initially a belief that Colorado Rockies outfielder Nolan Jones (back, knee) could rejoin the team ahead of Monday's series opener in Minnesota against the Twins, but the club is not pushing that timeline after talking with Jones. Working his way back from a strained lower back and an injury to his left knee, Jones now carries an uncertain timeline for a return to the major-league roster with the Rockies allowing him more time to find his swing. The 26-year-old left fielder has gone 6-for-23 with three extra-base hits and five RBI in his last six rehab games with Triple-A Albuquerque, however, and Colorado still figures to reinstate him from the injured list sometime during a 10-game homestand that begins on Friday against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Fantasy managers should hang tight in the interim and keep Jones stashed for his five-category potential at the hitter-friendly Coors Field when healthy.
