7 months agoPhiladelphia Phillies manager Gabe Kapler said that outfielder Nick Williams will not play center field this year, but he saw a look there in spring action on Thursday. Williams is expected to make the Opening Day roster as the top weapon off the bench, but with Bryce Harper and Andrew McCutchen at the corners and Odubel Herrera and Aaron Altherr combining in center field, he isn't expected to see consistent playing time. The 25-year-old hit .256/.324/.425 with 17 home runs and 50 RBI in 407 at-bats last year but is merely NL-only outfield depth as the team's fifth outfielder.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
