Max Strus Impresses With Double-Double
6 months agoCleveland Cavaliers guard/forward Max Strus had a convincing team debut in Wednesday's nail-biting 113-112 opening win over the Brooklyn Nets, accumulating 27 points (9-of-17 shooting), 12 rebounds, and seven three-pointers. Strus added two assists, one steal, one block, and he hit both of his free-throw attempts. The 27-year-old's effort came a bit out of nowhere, after he struggled throughout the Miami Heat's NBA Finals run this past postseason and didn't do much in Cleveland's preseason. It remains to be seen if Strus will maintain a starting gig when Jarrett Allen (ankle) returns, as Isaac Okoro also played very well Wednesday. While not a great defender, Strus can account for multiple positions and should be a key member of head coach J.B. Bickerstaff's rotation throughout the entire season for his ability to effectively work off the ball.
