Max Scherzer Superb In Six Innings, Managing Forearm Tightness
8 months agoTexas Rangers starting pitcher Max Scherzer (forearm) hurled six innings of one-hit ball on two walks with seven strikeouts for a no-decision in Friday's start versus the Minnesota Twins. The 39-year-old was phenomenal, allowing a lone single before being replaced by Brock Burke, who proceeded to serve up a couple of seventh-inning homers. Scherzer departed at just 88 pitches, revealing after the game that he is currently nursing "a little forearm tightness". It's not something fantasy managers want to hear, but the right-hander claims he isn't injured. As it stands, Scherzer is tentatively slated to start a crucial game versus the Houston Astros on Wednesday while carrying in a sharp 2.21 ERA, 0.85 WHIP, and 47:12 K:BB since landing in Arlington.
