Lauri Markkanen Back At Thursday's Practice
5 months agoUtah Jazz forward Lauri Markkanen (hamstring) fully participated in practice on Thursday. The 7-14 Jazz have taken things slowly with their franchise player, as Markkanen has missed six straight games with a left hamstring strain. Markkanen's presence at Thursday's session, however, would seem to get him on the right side of the questionable tag for Friday's game versus the Los Angeles Clippers. Before going down, the 26-year-old reigning Most Improved Player of the Year was dominating to the tune of 23.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.3 threes, and 2.2 combined steals and blocks per night in 34.1 minutes across 15 games in Salt Lake City. Spot-up shooter Simone Fontecchio has functioned as the primary fantasy beneficiary in Markkanen's stead, with modest averages of 11.0 points, 3.2 assists, and 2.2 threes in 28.6 minutes over his last six starts. Fontecchio would likely regress to waiver-wire fodder when Markkanen re-enters Utah's lineup.
