Kyle Tucker Aiming To Return Friday
2 months agoHouston Astros outfielder Kyle Tucker (shin) said prior to Monday's series opener against the San Francisco Giants that he's still hopeful to return to the lineup when first eligible to come off the 10-day injured list ahead of Friday's series opener against the Detroit Tigers. Tucker still has swelling in his ankle and hasn't resumed baseball activities while he recuperates from a right shin contusion, but he is able to move around without crutches now. It doesn't sound like a brief minor-league rehab assignment before returning to the Astros will be necessary for the 27-year-old fantasy superstar, who's slashing a prolific .266/.395/.584 with 19 home runs, 41 RBI, 42 runs scored, and 10 stolen bases through 262 plate appearances as a five-category sensation this season. Houston just recalled Joey Loperfido from the minor leagues this past weekend, but it doesn't sound like the top prospect's stay will be very long.
