Kristaps Porzingis Likely To Return Against Knicks
8 months agoBoston Celtics center Kristaps Porzingis (calf) is probable to play on Friday against the New York Knicks. Porzingis has missed four games in a row with a left calf strain that he suffered on Nov. 24, but he is expected to return for a "revenge game" against the team that drafted him in 2015 and traded him away during 2019. The "Unicorn" is averaging 18.9 points on a career-high 54.7% shooting clip from the field, 6.7 boards, 1.7 blocks, and 1.6 three-pointers in 30.3 minutes over 15 games and needs to be returned to all season-long fantasy lineups if active, regardless of any possible minutes restrictions. Al Horford has been filling in down low for head coach Joe Mazzulla in Porzingis' stead, averaging 11.6 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 2.6 swats in 30.9 minutes over five starts without Porzingis. The veteran should shift back to the bench and offer diminished fantasy value, assuming KP rejoins Boston's lineup on Friday.
