Kristaps Porzingis Fully Practices, Targeting Return Friday
8 months agoBoston Celtics center Kristaps Porzingis (calf) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice and participated in a 5-on-5 scrimmage with coaches after the session. "I believe so", Porzingis said when asked if he is ready to play. Porzingis has missed four straight games due to a left calf strain, but fantasy managers should be glad to hear that he's on the cusp of a return. An early-round fantasy beast when healthy, the oft-injured 28-year-old All-Star is averaging 18.9 points on a career-high 54.7% field-goal shooting, 6.7 boards, 1.7 blocks, and 1.6 treys in 30.3 minutes over 15 games. Al Horford has manned the middle in Porzingis' stead, averaging 11.6 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 2.6 rejections in 30.9 minutes covering five starts sans Porzingis, but he'll revert back to a reserve role if KP rejoins head coach Joe Mazzulla's lineup on Friday versus the New York Knicks.
