Hawks Keeping An Eye On Pascal Siakam
5 months agoThe Atlanta Hawks continue to monitor the availability of Toronto Raptors forward Pascal Siakam as a potential trade target after attempting to acquire him during the offseason, league sources tell USA Today's Michael Scotto. The 8-9 Hawks may find themselves at a crossroads at the 2023-24 trade deadline in February. The core of their team is under contract until at least 2024-25, but Scotto notes that Atlanta could opt to move names like Clint Capela, De'Andre Hunter, and Patty Mills to enhance their roster. Though power forward Jalen Johnson (wrist) is enjoying a breakout campaign, he remains out for multiple weeks with fractured left wrist. The 8-10 Raptors could also have a crucial decision to make at the deadline with Siakam, who is riding an expiring deal. Depending on where they're at in the standings, Toronto could elect to shift their to focus to Scottie Barnes as their future franchise centerpiece to build around.
