CJ McCollum Says He Will Play Wednesday
5 months agoNew Orleans Pelicans guard CJ McCollum (lung), who has been upgraded to probable for Wednesday's game versus the Philadelphia 76ers, said on his podcast that he will play in the contest. McCollum has missed 12 games with a small pneumothorax in his right lung, with Nov. 4's matchup being the last time we saw him on the court. The 32-year-old shot-creator was providing second-round fantasy numbers in 12-team category leagues before going down, bagging 21.7 points, 5.7 assists, 3.2 threes, and 1.5 steals per game. First-round rookie Jordan Hawkins is likely to represent the biggest fantasy loser of McCollum's impending return, while Dyson Daniels' value should also take a hit. Less usage will be available to go around for stars Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram, too. Erin Summers of Bally Sports New Orleans reports that McCollum hasn't been cleared to travel long distances yet, so he'll miss Saturday's game against the Bulls in Chicago.
