Chris Sale Turns The Clock Back In Tough-Luck No-Decision
12 months agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Chris Sale unveiled his once ace form against the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday, going eight innings and holding them to a lone run with nine strikeouts. It was the 34-year-old's longest start since 2019, but a potential win to top it off was spoiled by Kenley Jansen blowing the save chance in the ninth frame. In any event, fantasy managers who took a shot on the oft-injured Sale in drafts this season should revel in what they saw from him on Saturday night. A road start versus the San Diego Padres is on tap next Saturday, where Sale will carry a 5.40 ERA. A strong 54-to-12 strikeout-to-walk ratio, however, is something fantasy managers can hang their hats on.
