Anthony Edwards “Trending Towards” Returning Wednesday
6 months agoMinnesota Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch says guard Anthony Edwards (hip) is "trending towards" playing on Wednesday against the San Antonio Spurs, and Minnesota will see how Edwards feels before making a decision. Edwards could be shaping up as a true game-time decision even after practicing Monday, with his status at Wednesday morning's shootaround the next chance we'll have to paint a clearer picture on his ability to suit up. Edwards sustained a right hip pointer in last Tuesday's game, forcing him to miss Minny's latest two contests. The 22-year-old All-Star is notching early-round fantasy figures, averaging 26.2 points, 5.0 assists, 2.5 threes, and 1.3 steals in 35.1 minutes over 17 games this year. Swingman Troy Brown Jr. has averaged 30.3 minutes covering two starts in Edwards' stead, while Karl-Anthony Towns has asserted himself as the Wolves' offensive centerpiece with two 20-shot showings in a row.
