76ers Signing Darius Bazley
5 months agoThe Philadelphia 76ers plan to sign forward Darius Bazley to a 10-day contract out of their NBA G League Delaware Blue Coats. Bazley was an intriguing young prospect for the Oklahoma City Thunder not long ago, most recently seen with the Phoenix Suns for seven games during the 2022-23 season. Averaging 20.1 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 2.5 blocks, 1.1 steals, and 1.3 three-pointers in 33.6 minutes over 18 games in the G League this year, Bazley will supply the banged-up Sixers with some frontcourt depth as they continue to hope superstar big man Joel Embiid (knee) can return later this season. Bazley is worth monitoring in deeper points leagues for fantasy purposes, but between poor free-throw shooting and a high rate of turnovers, the 2019 first-round pick's style of play has never translated to much success in nine-category formats across his four-year career.
