Hassan Whiteside 2018-19 Player Outlook
6 years agoMiami Heat center Hassan Whiteside witnessed his fantasy value fall off a cliff last season and it's not certain that much will change in 2018-19. Injuries limited him to just 54 games and even when he was healthy, head coach Eric Spoelstra elected to use him sparingly. Whiteside got embarrassed by Joel Embiid in the playoffs and he featured for only 15 minutes per game in the opening series against the Sixers in which the team posted a minus-15.3 net rating with him on the floor. He doesn't have the floor spacing abilities of a modern-day NBA center, so Whiteside's role could one against be limited in the upcoming season. Although it's worth mentioning that according to Whiteside, he had one very positive four-hour meeting with Spoelstra and team president Pat Riley over the summer. He picked up 25.3 minutes per game last season and still averaged a double-double with 14 points and 11.4 rebounds.
