Tyler Glasnow Dominates Yankees For Fifth Win
9 months agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Tyler Glasnow threw seven one-run innings with eight strikeouts against the New York Yankees on Monday. He allowed only three hits and one walk en route to his fifth win of the year. Glasnow pitched very well in this one with a second-inning Jake Bauers solo shot acting as the only conspicuous blemish to his ledger. The 29-year-old got plenty of run support and scattered only two singles along with a walk otherwise for consecutive dominant starts. After a late start to the year due to a left oblique strain, Glasnow is rounding into form with a superb 2.08 ERA, 0.90 WHIP, and 63:9 K:BB in his last seven starts (43.1 frames). The hard-throwing right-hander has fanned at least eight during six of his prior seven showings. Glasnow should have a good shot at keeping the good times rolling in a cushy draw with the Detroit Tigers on tap for Sunday.
