Saints Spend Fourth-Round Pick On Jake Haener
The New Orleans Saints added another signal-caller to the depth chart in selecting Fresno State quarterback Jake Haener with the 127th overall pick in the NFL Draft. The 24-year-old started 23 games over the last two years. He accumulated over 4000 passing yards with 33 touchdown passes back in 2021 and then completed 72% of his attempts during his most recent season. The 2023 Senior Bowl MVP finished his college career with a 68-to-18 touchdown-to-interception ratio and led Fresno State to consecutive 10-win campaigns for just the third time in school history. Haener shapes up as a third-stringer, however, in his first year as a pro, slotting in behind both starting quarterback Derek Carr and presumed backup Jameis Winston for the Saints.
