Ronald Acuna Jr. Makes History In Saturday’s Win
9 months agoAtlanta Braves right fielder Ronald Acuna Jr. went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run, a stolen base, and an additional run scored in Saturday's easy 11-5 win over the Milwaukee Brewers. The 25-year-old singled on Julio Teheran's first pitch of the game before swiping his 50th bag of the season, eventually crossing the plate to score as part of Atlanta's six-run ambush. With the pilfer, Acuna became the first player in MLB history to total at least 20 home runs and 50 steals before August. The four-time All-Star singled once more during the second frame before getting picked off attempting to steal his 51st base of the year. Acuna would then wallop a fourth-inning two-run homer and tack on an eighth-inning walk to wrap up his historic evening. The NL MVP front runner is slashing a phenomenal .333/.416/.578 with 24 long balls, 54 RBI, and an MLB-high 91 runs scored in 469 plate appearances.
