Ramon Laureano Closing In On Rehab Assignment
10 months agoOakland Athletics outfielder Ramon Laureano (hand) took live batting practice on Saturday. It's the first time he's done so since being sent to the 10-day injured list with a fractured left hand retroactive to June 22. The 29-year-old could start a rehab assignment as soon as July 18, per manager Mark Kotsay. Laureano is hitting a disappointing .213 with a .635 OPS, five home runs, 17 RBI, and eight stolen bases in 202 at-bats this season. The center fielder's tantalizing power and speed potential makes him a justifiable stash in deep leagues. But Laureano's overall upside should remain limited by the weak Athletics lineup around him.
