Pistons Without Jaden Ivey, Alec Burks Against Bucks
6 months agoDetroit Pistons guards Jaden Ivey (illness) and Alec Burks (forearm) have both been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks. Ivey hasn't played since Nov. 2 due to an illness, and Burks was last seen on Oct. 30 after he sustained a left forearm contusion. They'll both look to suit back up on Friday versus the Philadelphia 76ers. With Joe Harris (shoulder) also down with an injury in addition to several other key contributors, Detroit's depth is being tested very early on during the 2023-24 campaign. It leaves head coach Monty Williams heavily dependent on Cade Cunningham to dominate usage, while 2023 first-rounders Ausar Thompson and Marcus Sasser figure to receive run in the 30-minute range against the Bucks. In a nightmarish scenario on the road with a depleted Pistons rotation, there's some inherent blowout risk attached to Wednesday's game for both sides.
