The 20-year-old was injured during Tuesday's overtime loss to the Edmonton Oilers after skating 12:21 in the contest. The rookie has appeared in 23 games for the Habs this season, tallying four goals and nine points on 34 shots while averaging 12:08 of ice time per game. Roy has also had a nice season with the AHL's Laval Rocket, posting 13 goals and 32 points across 40 games in his first professional season. Mercer opened the scoring with his 18th just 5:35 into the opening frame before Meier restored a lead with his 20th late in the second period. Mercer added his 19th 9:14 into the third period followed by Meier's 21st with just over three minutes remaining. Both of Meier's tallies came on the power play. With the win, the Devils improved to 33-32-4 on the season, good for sixth in the Metropolitan Division and six points back of the Detroit Red Wings for the second and final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.

The sophomore opened the scoring 12:48 into the game and didn't wait long to record his second just over two minutes later at 14:53 of the opening frame. The goals were the 24th and 25th of the season while he now has 55 points and 152 shots on goal across 69 games on the campaign. With the win, the Hurricanes improved to 42-20-6 on the season, good for second place in the Metropolitan Division, two points back of the New York Rangers.

Desperate for points, the Wings flirted with disaster on Tuesday, trailing the lowly Blue Jackets into the dying seconds of the game before Lucas Raymond scored to tie it with just 13 seconds to go. Kane would bury the overtime winner just 48 seconds into the extra frame. The winner was Kane's 15th goal of the season and he added a pair of assists, giving him 38 points in 38 games after signing a one-year deal with the Red Wings midway through the season following hip resurfacing surgery. The Red Wings improved to 35-28-6 on the season, good for the second and final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.

The three-goal effort was the veteran's second of the season and 19th of his NHL career. With the effort, Pastrnak now has 44 goals and 99 points across 70 games. He also fired a whopping seven shots on goal Tuesday, giving him an NHL-best 338 shots on goal this season. Pastrnak led the NHL with 407 shots on goal last season. He now has six goals and nine points over his last six games. With the win, the Bruins improved to 41-14-15 on the season, good for top spot in the NHL.

The Jets captain opened the scoring 4:04 into the second period and notched his second of the game with 2:05 to go in the middle frame. He could complete the hat trick, the eighth of his career, on an empty-netter to seal the win with just nine seconds remaining. With the performance, Scheifele has now registered 22 goals and 62 points across 61 games on the season. He also fired a hefty seven shots on goal Tuesday, giving him 134 on the campaign. The Jets sit atop the Central Division with a 44-19-5 record on the season.

1 month agoToronto Maple Leafs forward Ryan Reaves left Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers early with an undisclosed ailment. The enforcer fought Flyers forward Nicolas Deslauriers early in the first period and departed the penalty box with what looked like a swollen right eye and went to the Maple Leafs' locker room. He was also seen connecting with the helmet of Deslauriers numerous times in the bout, potentially injuring his hand. The 37-year-old has recorded three goals and four points along with 124 hits and 39 penalty minutes in 39 games on the season, skating an average of 8:11 in that time. He has been in and out of the lineup as a healthy scratch for much of the season.

The 25-year-old has indeed been leaned on heavily this season with his 49 games played sitting in a five-way tie for the second-most outings by a netminder this season. Skinner has posted a 2.57 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage on the season, posting a 30-13-4 record in the process. His 5.34 goals saved above average sits 24th of 69 qualified netminders, according to Hockey Reference. The veteran has been alternating starts with Jeremy Swayman of late after Swayman had overtaken the starter's role despite Ullmark winning the Vezina Trophy last season. He was likely to repeat his tidy 1.89 goals-against average and .938 save percentage from 49 games last season but Ullmark still sports a quality 2.66 GAA and .912 Sv% across 33 outings (32 starts) this season, going 18-7-7 in the process. It's unclear when the blueliner suffered the injury as he skated 20:14 in a 4-1 win over the Seattle Kraken on Saturday. He has already notched career highs with six goals and 13 points on the season in 68 games but Lauzon's 327 hits are easily the most in the NHL, 59 more than second-place Garnet Hathaway. Mark Del Gaizo will take Lauzon's spot in the Predators lineup beginning Tuesday night versus the visiting San Jose Sharks. The Predators currently sit in the top Wild Card spot in the Western Conference with a 39-25-4 record.

The veteran was reportedly frustrated by the decision by head coach John Tortorella. "I guess we're going to the best lineup available tonight to get a win," the veteran said. "So, it is what it is. ... I've got to leave my ego aside, I guess, and hopefully team finds a way to win here tonight and I can get back into [the lineup] soon. Couturier has tallied 11 goals and 36 points in 64 games this season but has just one goal over his last 27 contests. He missed the entire 2022-23 season due to a back injury and played in just 29 games the season prior.

1 month agoNew York Rangers defenseman Ryan Lindgren will be sidelined for a few weeks due to a lower-body injury suffered in Sunday's 5-2 win over the New York Islanders. The blueliner was injured when he fell awkwardly with Islanders center Jean-Gabriel Pageau late in the second period. The injury is reportedly not as serious as initially feared and the rugged defenseman is expected to make a full recovery. The team recalled defenseman Brandon Scanlin from AHL Hartford while the newly acquired Chad Ruhwedel is expected to take Lindgren's spot in the lineup for his first action with the Rangers since being acquired on the March 8 trade deadline. Lindgren has recorded two goals and 13 points along with 100 hits and 88 blocks across 66 games this season.
