Nathan Eovaldi Hits 15-Day Injured List On Sunday
9 months agoThe Texas Rangers have placed starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi (forearm) on the 15-day injured list with a right forearm strain. Right-hander Grant Anderson has been recalled from Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move. The 33-year-old Eovaldi was originally penciled in for Sunday's start against the San Diego Padres, but was pushed back from that spot on Saturday. This development has now taken a more significant turn and it looks as if Eovaldi could be sidelined for at least three more potential starts, having last pitched on July 18. The right-hander has experienced a decrease in velocity of late as well, so the first-place Rangers will allot Eovaldi some time to get right. The recently-acquired Max Scherzer's arrival to the rotation will certainly be a welcome one. Eovaldi, a 2023 All-Star, takes a 2.69 ERA, an MLB-best 1.01 WHIP, and 111:34 K:BB over 123 2/3 innings to the sidelines.
