Mike Yastrzemski Goes Deep Twice, Walks It Off
10 months agoSan Francisco Giants outfielder Mike Yastrzemski closed 3-for-5 with two home runs, four RBI, and three runs scored in Monday's extra-inning, walk-off 7-4 triumph over the San Diego Padres. The 32-year-old's first bomb was a solo shot off a Michael Wacha hanging changeup. Yastrzemski later played hero, dunking a game-winning three-run blast into McCovey Cove. The southpaw has mostly disappeared from the fantasy radar since his 2020 breakout, but he's slashing an improved .257/.321/.487 with 10 dingers and 26 RBI following this massive night. Perhaps this effort spurs some consistency out of Yastrzemski, but fantasy managers should wait for a few more encouraging showings before aggressively scooping him up off waiver wires.
