Josh Bell 2024 Outlook: A Return To Form In Miami Offers Reliable Production At Low ADP
9 months agoJosh Bell was two different hitters for two different ballclubs last season. Bell started out the year in Cleveland, where he was supposed to be the power bat the Guardians had been seeking to add to their lineup. Unfortunately, by the end of July, he had hit just 11 home runs, was hitting .213 with runners in scoring position, and had a .233/.318/.338 slash line. Bell was dealt to Miami at the trade deadline and quickly turned things around. He hit 11 more home runs as a Marlin in 44 fewer games and had an OPS almost 100 points higher with his new team than he had prior to the trade (.480 compared to .383 with Cleveland). Bell hit in the top half of the Marlins' lineup in 2023 and likely slots into the two- or three-hole again for 2024. The switch-hitter is expected to be the Marlins' everyday first baseman, likely hitting behind reigning batting champ Luis Arraez, which should provide plenty of RBI chances. Bell has been quietly consistent throughout his career and shouldn't have a problem attaining another 20 HR, 70 RBI season which would be a great value at his 287.08 ADP.
