Aaron Judge 2024 Player Outlook: Elite Power Hitter Has Record Breaking Potential
12 months agoA year after setting the AL home run record, Aaron Judge was a bit of a let-down in fantasy in 2023. That's down to a freak toe injury which limited the slugger to 106 games. Judge still had 37 homers, 75 RBI, 79 runs and three stolen bases along with a .267/.406/.613 slash line. That was a 162-game pace of 57 homers, 115 RBI, 121 runs and five steals. Everyone would've taken last year when drafting him. Judge would have also led the Majors in home runs if that was the case. Concerns about his health may be misguided. Judge missed a total of 19 games across the 2021 and 2022 seasons and as mentioned, it was a freak injury when crashing into the outfield wall at Dodgers Stadium that cost him eight weeks of the season. Only five teams scored fewer runs than the Yankees in 2023 and they looked to address that issue by acquiring Juan Soto this offseason. The toe injury is behind him and Judge will be entering Spring fully healthy, meaning there's no reason not to use a first-round draft pick on the Yankees Captain.
