FAAB Auction Waiver Wire Bidding - Week 10 Pickups

Welcome to Week 10 everyone. As we move closer to the fantasy playoffs, fantasy owners need to prepare for the final push and decide their strategy going into the stretch run. Those in FAAB leagues also need to be mindful about both their budget and other owners, as players may be able to be added at a lower value if owners burned their budget early.

The Chiefs, Raiders, Eagles and Ravens are on bye this week, so fantasy owners will be looking to replace players like Travis Kelce, Alex Smith and Carson Wentz leading into this weekend. Let’s look around the league at who is worth a bid going into Week 10. Each FAAB auction price recommendation will be based on a $100 FAAB budget, and all players listed have less than 50 percent ownership on Yahoo.

Once you're done here, be sure to read about even more Week 10 waiver wire analysis columns, with in-depth analysis for all fantasy-relevant positions. Just click on any link: ALL - RB - WR - TE - QB - DEF

Editor's Note: Our incredible team of writers won two writing awards and received 12 award nominations by the Fantasy Sports Writers Association. A big congrats to our very own Byron Lindeque (Golf) and Jordan McAbee (NASCAR) for both winning Writer Of The Year awards! FAAB Waiver Wire Bids - Running Backs

Matt Forte (NYJ) - $15-20 (42% owned)

This is a reminder that despite being near the end of his career, Forte remains the leader of Gang Green's backfield, and he had a season-high 14 carries for 77 yards and two touchdowns last Thursday in the win over Buffalo. The soon-to-be 32-year-old needs to be owned in more leagues. He'll still have to fend off Bilal Powell and rookie Elijah McGuire, but as long as he's healthy, he's New York's top dog. He's averaging a healthy 4.4 yards per carry and has a great matchup with the non-existent Tampa D in Week 10.

Damien Williams (MIA) - $10-15 (33% owned)

Williams may not be available in your league, but if he still is, scoop him up immediately. Miami went with a committee of Williams and Kenyan Drake Sunday night against Oakland, and that should continue after the Dolphins dealt Jay Ajayi to Philly at the trade deadline last week.

Drake was more effective with his touches -- nine carries for 69 yards to Williams' seven totes for 14 yards -- but Williams made his bread with six catches for 47 yards and a touchdown. Miami faces a much stiffer test in Carolina next Monday night, but Williams will at least be in the RB3/flex conversation in PPR leagues moving forward with Ajayi out of the picture.

Thomas Rawls (SEA) - $5-10 (13% owned)

Eddie Lacy (groin) was supposed to dominate backfield work in Week 9 against Washington, but an early injury scrapped those plans for Seattle. That led to Rawls seeing nine carries of his own for a season-high 39 yards. He also added two receptions for 31 yards.

Seattle's backfield remains a mess -- Russell Wilson led the team in rushing yet again -- but Rawls could be in line for most of the touches on a short week Thursday against Arizona if Lacy isn't cleared in time. Temper expectations, though, as Rawls is averaging only 2.5 yards per tote behind a disheveled Seattle O-line.

Corey Clement (PHI) - $5-10 (1% owned)

The same week the Eagles bolstered their running back depth by acquiring Jay Ajayi from the Dolphins, the rookie Clement led the team with 12 carries for 51 yards and two touchdowns. Oh, and he also caught a 15-yard TD pass in the team's 51-point explosion over Denver. Go figure.

With Philly on bye this week, the coaching staff may figure out more ways to get Clement involved, even with Ajayi now in the picture. LeGarrette Blount and Wendell Smallwood are trending downward, so Clement may very well be the No. 2 back in this explosive offense heading into Week 11.

Also Consider: Devontae Booker (DEN) - $3-5, Peyton Barber (TB) - $3-5, Danny Woodhead (BAL) - $3-5

FAAB Waiver Wire Bids - Wide Receivers

Robert Woods (LAR) - $15-20 (35% owned)

This isn't the first time Woods has been mentioned in this space. If you weren't sold on him before, you definitely should be now after he led the suddenly explosive Rams offense in Week 9 in catches (four), yards (70) and touchdowns (two) in the 51-point drubbing of the Giants. The former Buffalo Bill had at least seven targets in each of the previous three weeks, too.

Head coach Sean McVay has done a masterful job of spreading the ball around, but Woods has been the most consistent for both Jared Goff and fantasy owners. It's clear that Woods has become a solid WR3, and he faces another enticing matchup against Houston this weekend.  You can't say we haven't warned you.

Corey Davis (TEN) - $15-20 (45% owned)

In case you missed it, the promising rookie returned in Week 9 from a hamstring injury that he suffered way back in Week 2. He had only two catches on five targets for 28 yards against Baltimore, but he started the season off strong in the opener (six catches on 10 targets for 69 yards).

Expect Davis to be a bigger part of Tennessee's passing game moving forward, and his first-round pedigree suggests he should evolve into the No. 1 wideout option for Marcus Mariota before long. He has shown enough to be penciled in as a WR3 with upside, starting next week against the Bengals.

Corey Coleman (CLE) - $15-20 (12% owned)

We know, it's the Browns. But Cleveland has designated Coleman as their player to return from Injured Reserve, and he'd be eligible to return as soon as Week 11. The talented 23-year-old suffered a broken hand in Week 2 but had six catches for 62 yards and a score before being shelved. He missed six games in his rookie year due to injury, too, but it's hard to dispute that there is a more talented all-around receiver on the fantasy waiver wire this late into the season.

Marquise Goodwin (SF) - $10-15 (12% owned)

In what has quickly become a lost season for the 0-9 Niners, Goodwin is now the team's leading receiver after the season-ending injury to Pierre Garcon (neck) in Week 8. Goodwin didn't exactly take advantage of the increased role in Week 9 against Arizona (two catches), but he did have eight targets and 68 yards. The opportunity is there for Goodwin, but the upside is limited in this terrible offense. He's more of a boom-or-bust WR4/flex in deeper leagues.

Curtis Samuel (CAR) - $5-10 (9% owned)

In the first game without Kelvin Benjamin, the rookie Samuel started opposite Devin Funchess and hauled in a season-high three catches for 23 yards. It's not much, but like Goodwin, there is now opportunity here with Samuel moving into the starting lineup. The upside is limited, however, with Carolina being a run-first team and with tight end Greg Olsen (foot) looking to return soon.

Also Consider: Josh Gordon (CLE) - $5-10, Adam Humphries (TB) - $3-5, Aldrick Robinson (SF) - $3-5

FAAB Waiver Wire Bids - Tight Ends

Charles Clay (BUF) - $5-10 (13% owned)

Clay has been sidelined since he injured his knee Oct. 8, but he's nearing a return and has a chance to suit up against New Orleans in Week 10. While much has changed in Buffalo's offense since then -- most notably the acquisition of receiver Kelvin Benjamin -- Clay should at least go back to being a low-end TE1 option for tight end-needy fantasy owners. He had 20 catches on 28 targets and scored twice in five games before his injury.

C.J. Fiedorowicz (HOU) - $5-10 (10% owned)

Fiedorowicz will be activated from Injured Reserve ahead of Week 10 against the Rams and should immediately return to his duties as the lead pass-catching tight end. The 26-year-old played in just one game on the season before suffering his concussion, catching all four of his targets for 46 yards. While the presence of Tom Savage under center instead of Deshaun Watson hurts Fiedorowicz's fantasy ceiling, he can at least be a low-end streamer and has touchdown upside.

Also Consider: Garrett Celek (SF) - $1-2

FAAB Waiver Wire Bids - Quarterbacks

Jimmy Garoppolo (SF) - $3-5 (13% owned)

While the Niners aren't making any promises for starting Garoppolo this year after they acquired him in a trade with New England last week, it makes a lot of sense for them to get a look at him with the team going nowhere in 2017. Once head coach Kyle Shanahan is confident Garoppolo has a grasp of the playbook, San Fran will throw him out there. He won't have much to work with in terms of weapons, but Garoppolo would at least be worth a look in two-QB formats.

Ryan Fitzpatrick (TB) - $3-5 (1% owned)

The Amish Rifle will start at least the next two games for Tampa with Jameis Winston (shoulder) being shut down. Fitzpatrick went 8-for-15 for 68 yards and a TD in relief of Winston in Week 9, and he delivered 290 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions in similar fashion against Arizona on Oct. 15.

Even though Mike Evans will be suspended this weekend, Fitzpatrick has the weapons to put up a decent stat line as a second fantasy quarterback against the Jets in Week 10. There will be added incentive to play well this weekend, too, as Fitzpatrick played for the Jets each of the previous two years.

Also Consider: Tom Savage (HOU) - $1-2, Paxton Lynch (DEN) - $1-2

FAAB Waiver Wire Bids - Defense

Green Bay Packers - $1-3 (45% owned)

Heading into Week 9's Monday night matchup, Green Bay's defense already ranked ninth in the NFL in takeaways (13) and eighth in sacks (24). That's good news, considering the Packers' Week 10 opponent -- the Chicago Bears -- have the fourth most giveaways (15) in the league. Chicago's offense also allows the fourth most fantasy points per game to opposing D/STs (10.9).

If Green Bay can somehow figure out a way to stop the run, they will be in a great spot to create havoc against rookie gunslinger Mitch Trubisky. The Bears have done their best to hide him; he's attempted just 38 passes in four starts, good for a 47.5 completion percentage.

Also Consider: New England Patriots - $1, Tennessee Titans - $1
