Willy Adames Curbs Slide With Long Ball
12 months agoMilwaukee Brewers shortstop Willy Adames went just 1-for-5 in the team's win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday, but he walloped a solo homer in the second inning. The big fly comes on the two-year anniversary of the trade which shipped Adames out of Tampa Bay to Milwaukee. The 27-year-old was skidding with just three hits in his prior 25 at-bats, but he suppressed a far deeper 17-for-94 (.181 average) skid over the past month of play before Sunday's outing. The hard-hitting infielder is hitting .212 and slugging .382, both career-worst marks, with eight round trippers and 25 RBI in 2023.
