Willi Castro On The Verge Of Returning
8 months agoMinnesota Twins super utility man Willi Castro (oblique) is likely to join the team in Texas against the Rangers this weekend, and could be activated by Sunday. The 26-year-old returned home from his rehab assignment at Triple-A St. Paul for the birth of his daughter on Thursday, so Castro should be ready to go from a health perspective. The speedy infielder/outfielder hit the injured list on Aug. 15 due to a left oblique strain, but he's already played a few rehab games. Castro can defend virtually the entire diamond, but is unlikely to play every day due to his limitations outside of speed. The switch-hitter is batting .241 (67-for-278) with five home runs, 26 RBI, and 29 stolen bases overall and is worth a look for the steals, which rank fifth in the American League.
