Thairo Estrada Dealing With Conjunctivitis
8 months agoSan Francisco Giants second baseman Thairo Estrada (illness), who was scratched from Friday's lineup versus the Colorado Rockies, is experiencing conjunctivitis. Casey Schmitt watched the keystone and Paul DeJong entered the lineup to cover shortstop in his absence. As Estrada deals with pink eye, it leaves him day-to-day and with his status in question for Saturday's meeting. The speedy infielder has been quiet lately, showing a .226 batting average with just two extra-base hits, three runs scored, and no stolen bases over his last 53 at-bats covering 13 games. Schmitt is in line to gain the most playing time as long as Estrada is out.
