Spencer Strider Takes The Ball In High-Stakes Spot
7 months agoStarting pitcher Spencer Strider is tasked with keeping the Atlanta Braves alive in a win-or-go-home Game 4 of the NLDS against the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday. Strider hopes to stave off elimination for his team after being saddled with a tough-luck Game 1 loss despite throwing seven innings of one-run ball with eight strikeouts. The fireballing right-hander's regular-season dominance of Philadelphia carried over into the postseason in that one, as Strider is undefeated (8-0) with a pristine 1.90 ERA and 72 punchouts in 47 2/3 IP (eight appearances) opposing the Phillies in his career. The 24-year-old could be worth the premium cost in single-game DFS showdowns Thursday.
