Shane McClanahan Pulled From Friday’s Start With Back Issue
10 months agoTampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Shane McClanahan (back) was taken out of Friday's start against the Seattle Mariners after experiencing back tightness. The 26-year-old struggled through three innings, letting in four runs on five hits and three walks with just one strikeout before departing. McClanahan conceded to reporters after the game that "something is not 100% right. We're gonna do whatever we gotta do to get that right.". It's possible McClanahan ends up on the injured list to give his balky back a chance to recuperate, having now been unable to finish consecutive starts with the problem. The hard-throwing southpaw is tentatively scheduled to face the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday, but fantasy managers should brace for McClanahan's start to at least be pushed back a bit as we wait for the next update on his status.
