Salvador Perez 2024 Fantasy Baseball Outlook: Dependable Power At A Fair Price
10 months agoKansas City Royals catcher Salvador Perez is about as consistent as they come at the position. The 33-year-old turned in another fine season in 2023, registering 23 home runs, 80 RBI and a .255 batting average across 140 games. His .292 OBP left a lot to be desired mainly due to a miserable 3.3 BB%, but drawing walks has never been Perez's game. The Royals slugger may never hit the lofty heights of his 2021 season again, but his reliable power and reasonable batting average make him a worthwhile target once the top catchers are off the board. Fantasy managers can expect more of the same from Perez heading into the 2024 season, as FGDC is projecting 26 HRs, 84 RBI and a .259/.300/.455 slash line in 565 plate appearances. RotoBaller ranks Perez 183rd overall, which is a far cry from his NFBC ADP of 134, but he is still worth the price tag in those middle rounds due to his pop and dependability.
