Pete Alonso Passes Concussion Protocol, In Sunday’s Lineup
8 months agoNew York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso (head/neck) passed concussion protocol on Saturday night and is in Sunday's lineup for the series finale versus the Los Angeles Angels. The 28-year-old was beaned in the neck area by an off-speed pitch in the eighth inning of Saturday's contest, causing the frustrated Alonso's removal after benches cleared. Fantasy managers can breathe a sigh of relief at the sight of Alonso right back in the mix for Sunday's tilt, though his exit did seem somewhat precautionary amid a lost Mets season. The three-time All-Star is hitless in his last 11 at-bats, so Alonso tries to end that dry spell in this one.
