Patrick Wisdom Picks Up Golden Sombrero Amidst Dry Spell
12 months agoChicago Cubs third baseman Patrick Wisdom went 0-for-4 with four strikeouts on Tuesday, but the Cubbies beat the New York Mets 7-2 anyway. Over his last 24 games, the 31-year-old now holds a terrible .169 average (12-for-71) with just three home runs and five RBI across the skid. With Seiya Suzuki catching fire and Christopher Morel grabbing headlines, Wisdom may stand as the odd man out for playing time once Cody Bellinger (knee) returns from the injured list. The aggressive Wisdom hits the ball hard as regularly as any slugger, but his reckless 39% strikeout rate makes his average hard to stomach in fantasy. He's a borderline hold even on rosters punting that category at this point.
