6 months agoBobby Green (31-14-1) will be looking for his third straight win as he takes on Jalin Turner in the co-main event at UFC Austin on Saturday. Green was slated to face Dan Hooker in Saturday's co-main event, but Hooker was forced out due to a broken arm. In his last bout, Green managed to score a first-round knockout victory against Grant Dawson. DraftKings sees Green as the underdog with a salary of $7,600. Throughout his UFC career of 23 bouts, he averages 65.3 fantasy points per contest. This is an interesting matchup for Green, who typically likes to use his boxing and speed advantages from the back foot by drawing his foes into sharp counters. That is going to be tough against Turner, who has a 4.5-inch reach advantage.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC

6 months agoJalin Turner (13-7) is set to face off against Bobby Green in the UFC Austin co-main event on Saturday at Moody Center in Austin, Texas. Turner replaced his most recent opponent Dan Hooker, who was forced to withdraw with an arm injury. After an impressive five-fight win streak, Turner dropped consecutive split decisions to Hooker and Mateusz Gamrot. Turner will have a 4.5-inch reach advantage over Green and DraftKings has him as the favorite with a salary of $8,900. In his UFC career of 10 bouts, he's averaging 81.0 fantasy points per fight.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC

6 months agoDustin Stoltzfus may be in dire need of a victory more than anyone else on Saturday's card when he faces off against Punahele Soriano. Stoltzfus has competed in five matches in the UFC, with one victory and four losses. In his most recent bout, Stoltzfus was stopped in 19 seconds by Abus Magomedov at UFC Paris in September 2022. DraftKings sees Stoltzfus as the underdog with a salary of $6,800. Throughout his UFC career (five bouts), he averages 38.6 fantasy points per contest.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC
Share:
6 months agoPunahele Soriano and Dustin Stoltzfus are scheduled for three rounds in the middleweight division as a featured undercard attraction on this weekend's UFC Austin card. Soriano looks to bounce back from his first stoppage loss in his most recent outing, as he was finished by Roman Kopylov at UFC Vegas 67 in January. His professional MMA record is 9-3 while his UFC record is 3-3. DraftKings sees Soriano as the favorite with a salary of $9,400. Throughout his UFC career (six fights), he averages 68.0 fantasy points per contest.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC

6 months agoJoaquim Silva (12-4) is coming off a knockout loss to Arman Tsarukyan in June in a fight he had success and even hurt Tsarukyan early in the fight. Silva is now set to return at UFC Austin against Clay Guida. The Brazilian, who's set for his 10th UFC fight, is a sizeable betting favorite as DraftKings has him at a salary of $9,100, while he's averaging 56.61 fantasy points per fight. Silva has won three of his five UFC fights by stoppage, while he's been finished in three of his four losses.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC
Share:
6 months agoClay Guida (38-23) will be making the walk to the Octagon for the 36th time at UFC Austin and is currently 18-17 in the UFC. Guida is coming off a decision loss to Rafa Garcia in April and will now face Joaquim Silva. Against Silva, DraftKings has Guida as a sizeable underdog with a salary of $7,100, which is the fifth-lowest on the card. Guida is averaging 61.89 fantasy points per fight, and in his last 10 bouts, six have gone the distance.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC
Share:
6 months agoKelvin Gastelum (18-8) is set to drop down to welterweight for the first time since 2016 at UFC Austin as he takes on Sean Brady. Gastelum began his UFC career at welterweight but struggled to make weight so made a permanent move to middleweight. Gastelum is coming off a decision win over Chris Curtis in April which snapped his two-fight losing skid and was also his first fight in a year-and-a-half. Heading into this fight, DraftKings has Gastelum as a slight underdog with a salary of $8,000 while in his UFC career, he's averaging 64.62 fantasy points per fight.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC
Share:
6 months agoSean Brady (15-1) will be ending a year-long layoff on Saturday when he welcomes Kelvin Gastelum back to the welterweight division at UFC Austin. Brady hasn't fought since October of 2022 when he lost by TKO to Belal Muhammad, and since then has been sidelined due to injuries. Despite the layoff, Brady finds himself as a small favorite as DraftKings has him at a salary of $8,200 while in his UFC career, he's averaging 86.11 fantasy points per fight. Brady has won two of his five wins in the UFC by stoppage.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC
Share:
6 months agoDeiveson Figueiredo (21-3-1) is the former UFC flyweight champion but will be moving up to bantamweight to take on Rob Font at UFC Austin. Figueiredo is coming off a TKO loss to Brandon Moreno in January to lose his flyweight title, in the fourth fight between the two. With Figueiredo being the one who's changing weight classes, DraftKings has him as the underdog with a salary of $7,400. In his UFC career, Figueiredo is averaging 79.02 fantasy points per fight as he's finished seven of his 10 wins inside the octagon.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC
Share:
6 months agoRob Font (20-7) is looking to return to the win column and go 2-1 in 2023 at UFC Austin. Font is set to welcome former flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo to the bantamweight division in an intriguing matchup. Font is coming off a lackluster decision loss to Cory Sandhagen in a fight he was outwrestled for five rounds. Despite that, DraftKings has him as the favorite with a salary of $8,800 while in his UFC tenure, he's averaging 87.27 fantasy points per fight. Font has won seven of his 10 UFC wins by stoppage.--Cole SheltonSource: UFC

6 months agoIn the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 232, Ecuadorian Michael Morales beat Jake Matthews in the welterweight division to defend his undefeated record. Morales was coming off a unanimous decision victory over Max Griffin. Morales dominated the bout with powerful strikes, forcing Matthews to try and counter Morales. In 15 minutes of action, Morales landed 84 significant strikes, while Matthews landed 57. With this win, Morales' UFC record is now 4-0.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC
Share:
6 months agoAfter winning his last bout, Jake Matthews suffered a setback when he was defeated by UFC prospect Michael Morales in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 232 on Saturday. The fight was intense and back-and-forth, but Morales landed enough hard shots to secure a unanimous decision victory. Throughout the fight, Morales' reach presented big problems for Matthews. Another issue for Matthews was that none of his shots bothered Morales. In 15 minutes of action, Matthews landed 57 significant strikes. The loss knocks Matthews down to 12-7 in the UFC.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC

6 months agoNick Aguirre suffered a submission loss to Payton Talbott at UFC Fight Night 232 on Saturday. Aguirre entered the night having lost a unanimous decision by Dan Argueta earlier this year. Aguirre had some success in the first round as he managed to take Talbott down and hold him there. However, in the third round, Talbott delivered a devastating kick that hurt Aguirre. As a result, Aguirre shot for a takedown but got mounted by Talbott who quickly locked in the fight-ending rear-naked choke. In 10:58 of action, Aguirre landed two takedowns and five significant strikes. --Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC
Share:
6 months agoEven though he wasn't thrilled with his overall performance, Payton Talbott earned the first submission win of his MMA career on Saturday. His opponent, Nick Aguirre, took Talbott down in the first round and held him down for an entire round. In the second round, Talbott turned the tables and controlled the position until the round ended. Then in the final round, Talbott hurt Aguirre with a kick, got mount position, and locked in a rear-naked choke. In 10:58 of action, Talbott landed 28 significant strikes. Talbott lived up to his prospect status in the bantamweight division with the win.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC

6 months agoLuana Pinheiro had her nine-fight winning streak snapped on Saturday when she suffered a third-round TKO loss to Amanda Ribas. She came out swinging heavily in the opening round, a decision that would come back to haunt her in the second and third as she began to slow down. Pinheiro's fatigue meant her defense had broken down completely and she ate every strike thrown at her, including a spinning wheel kick. Ribas followed Pinheiro to the ground and delivered a series of ground-and-pound strikes that forced the referee to stop the fight. In 13:53 of action, Pinheiro landed a takedown and 55 significant strikes.--Alen Kurbasic - RotoBallerSource: UFC
