The fight was intense and back-and-forth, but Morales landed enough hard shots to secure a unanimous decision victory. Throughout the fight, Morales' reach presented big problems for Matthews. 6 months agoNick Aguirre suffered a submission loss to Payton Talbott at UFC Fight Night 232 on Saturday. Aguirre entered the night having lost a unanimous decision by Dan Argueta earlier this year. Aguirre had some success in the first round as he managed to take Talbott down and hold him there. However, in the third round, Talbott delivered a devastating kick that hurt Aguirre. As a result, Aguirre shot for a takedown but got mounted by Talbott who quickly locked in the fight-ending rear-naked choke. 6 months agoEven though he wasn't thrilled with his overall performance, Payton Talbott earned the first submission win of his MMA career on Saturday. His opponent, Nick Aguirre, took Talbott down in the first round and held him down for an entire round. In the second round, Talbott turned the tables and controlled the position until the round ended. Then in the final round, Talbott hurt Aguirre with a kick, got mount position, and locked in a rear-naked choke. In 10:58 of action, Talbott landed 28 significant strikes. 6 months agoLuana Pinheiro had her nine-fight winning streak snapped on Saturday when she suffered a third-round TKO loss to Amanda Ribas. She came out swinging heavily in the opening round, a decision that would come back to haunt her in the second and third as she began to slow down. Pinheiro's fatigue meant her defense had broken down completely and she ate every strike thrown at her, including a spinning wheel kick. Ribas followed Pinheiro to the ground and delivered a series of ground-and-pound strikes that forced the referee to stop the fight.
