Onyeka Okongwu Out At Least Another Week
1 month agoThe Atlanta Hawks announced on Monday that center Onyeka Okongwu (toe), following a period of unloading, has resumed individual basketball activities and will be re-evaluated in seven to 10 days. The timetable effectively rules out Okongwu for the remainder of most managers' fantasy seasons, meaning the 23-year-old big man can be dropped across virtually all formats. For leagues that still run through Week 24, Okongwu's earliest possible return date from his sprained left big toe would be April 9 against the Miami Heat. In his stead, Bruno Fernando has assumed backup center duties but hasn't done enough to warrant rostership during the fantasy postseason. Clint Capela, on the other hand, has reached double scoring figures in 12 straight games and submitted 10 double-doubles over this stretch. He'll be an excellent source of blocks, boards, and field-goal percentage the rest of the way.
