NBA Fines Knicks For Violating Injury Reporting Rules
4 weeks agoThe NBA has fined the New York Knicks $25,000 for injury reporting rules violations regarding center Mitchell Robinson playing on March 27 versus the Toronto Raptors. After initially being listed as out for that game on the official injury report, Robinson was upgraded to questionable the morning of the contest before being made available to play. Based on the league's rules, the Knicks would've had to make such a change to the 26-year-old rim-protecting big man's status by 5 p.m. local time on the day before the game to avoid getting penalized. Through six appearances as a reserve for New York since returning from ankle surgery, Robinson is averaging just 3.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks while shooting a poor 36.8% from the free-throw line in 14.6 minutes. He won't be a recommended fantasy option in any formats for the final four outings of the campaign.
