Michael Wacha Expected Out Through July
9 months agoSan Diego Padres starting pitcher Michael Wacha (shoulder) is playing catch and throwing off flat ground, but still isn't able to do mound work. The 32-year-old is unlikely to return before the end of July at this juncture, per manager Bob Melvin. Wacha required an injured-list stint on July 4 with right shoulder inflammation and it looks as though he'll end up missing at least a month of action. The right-hander's 2022 resurgence has carried over into 2023, yielding a 2.84 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 73:25 K:BB in 85 2/3 innings covering 15 starts. Wacha should still be kept stashed in the majority of competitive fantasy leagues.
