Michael Soroka Making Another Minor-League Start Thursday
12 months agoAtlanta Braves pitcher Michael Soroka will make another start in Triple-A on Thursday. There were murmurs that the 25-year-old could make his highly-anticipated return Sunday against Toronto, but those whispers should be silenced with this news. After suffering a torn Achilles back in 2020, Soroka has not pitched in MLB since. During his last full season in 2019, the former first-round pick was a Cy Young candidate with a 2.68 ERA that year, giving up the least amount of homers per nine innings (0.7) in the National League. Soroka has a 5.23 ERA in five minor-league starts this year, but it's about time to consider stashing him in mixed leagues with his return imminent and two spots in the Braves rotation up for grabs.
