Matt Olson Keeps Raking, Goes Deep Twice
10 months agoAtlanta Braves first baseman Matt Olson went 4-for-5 with two home runs, five RBI, four runs scored, and a triple in Friday's 16-4 blowout win versus the Miami Marlins. The 29-year-old is on some kind of run right now. Since receiving what seemed to be a relegation out of the lineup's two-hole on June 15, Olson is hitting .333 with an astounding 10 homers and 22 RBI over 54 at-bats for a roaring stretch. The former All-Star is giving Shohei Ohtani a run for his money as MLB's home run leader, now up to an NL-high 28 big flies on the year. As Ohtani continues to grab headlines, Olson made a bit of history of his own in this one by breaking Hank Aaron's Braves franchise record for most homers through 81 games.
